Privacy Notice
The short version
- We collect your name and email when you buy, so we can deliver your course.
- Stripe handles your payment. We never see or store your card number.
- If you sign up for the free cheat sheet, we keep your name and email in our contact database (HubSpot) to send you occasional tips. You can unsubscribe anytime.
- We use the Meta Pixel to measure our ads and show ads to people who have visited. You can turn that off (see section 7).
- We don’t sell your information for money.
The Work Comp PT is a brand of Torres Workforce Health Partners, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This notice explains what information we collect through the Site, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
The Site is operated by Torres Workforce Health Partners, LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company, doing business as The Work Comp PT. For privacy questions or requests, email admin@torres-whp.com.
2. Information we collect
a. When you buy a course
Checkout is handled by Stripe on Stripe’s own pages. Stripe collects your payment details and the information it needs to process the payment and calculate sales tax, such as your billing location. We receive your name, email address, what you bought, and the amount. We never receive or store your full card number.
b. When you sign up for the free cheat sheet
When you sign up, we collect your first name and email address, along with the page you signed up on. Our server passes them to HubSpot, the customer relationship management (CRM) system we use to store contacts and send email. The Site does not load any HubSpot script or cookies to do this.
c. When you email us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
d. Advertising and measurement (Meta Pixel)
The Site uses the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms, Inc. (the company behind Facebook and Instagram). When you visit, the pixel sends Meta information about your visit, including:
- the pages you view on the Site;
- when you sign up for the free cheat sheet (Meta does not receive your name or email from us);
- when you click a button that goes to checkout, and which course it was for;
- when you complete a purchase, including the course and the price; and
- technical information Meta collects automatically, such as your IP address, browser, and device, and identifiers stored in cookies that Meta sets.
We use this to see whether our ads lead to visits and purchases, and so that Meta can show our ads to people who visited the Site or who resemble our visitors. If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta may connect this information to your account. Meta’s use of the information is governed by Meta’s Privacy Policy.
e. Course videos (YouTube)
Course videos on our members pages are hosted on YouTube and embedded using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube may collect information, and set cookies, when you play a video. That is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
f. Hosting
The Site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request information, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request, to deliver and secure the Site.
g. Cookies and browser storage
The Site itself does not set cookies. Meta sets its own cookies through the pixel (see 2d), YouTube may set cookies when you play a video (see 2e), and Stripe sets cookies on its checkout pages. After a purchase, the Site saves a small note in your browser’s local storage so the same purchase is not reported to Meta twice. That note holds only a reference to the checkout, not your name, email, or payment details.
3. How we use your information
- to deliver the course you bought and give you access to it;
- to send you course-related emails and answer your questions;
- if you signed up for the free cheat sheet, to send you occasional work-comp tips and news about our courses;
- to measure and improve our advertising (see 2d);
- to operate, secure, and improve the Site; and
- to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers who help us run the Site, sell the courses, and communicate with you:
- Stripe for payment processing and checkout;
- HubSpot for storing cheat-sheet sign-ups and sending email to people who signed up;
- Meta for ad measurement and targeting through the Meta Pixel;
- Google (YouTube) for hosting and playing course videos;
- Vercel for website hosting; and
- Our email provider for sending and receiving email.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
5. Selling and “sharing”
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some U.S. state privacy laws, including California’s, treat letting an advertising platform such as Meta use website activity to target ads as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Our use of the Meta Pixel may fall under those definitions. You can opt out as described in section 7.
6. Clinical and patient information
The Work Comp PT provides professional education for clinicians. We do not collect patient health information through the Site. Please do not send us any patient-identifiable health information, including when you email us about a case.
7. Your choices
- Email. Every email we send to people who signed up includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us to be removed.
- Ad tracking. You can block third-party cookies in your browser settings, use a content blocker, or adjust your Meta ad preferences, including the setting for activity from other websites and apps.
- Access, correction, and deletion. Email admin@torres-whp.com to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it. We will respond as required by applicable law. We may need to keep purchase records for tax and accounting purposes.
- California residents have the right to know, delete, and correct their personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Email us to make a request.
- EU/UK residents may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing, to data portability, and to complain to their data protection authority.
8. How long we keep information
We keep purchase records for as long as needed to provide your course and meet tax and accounting requirements, and email correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to help you. We keep cheat-sheet sign-ups until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Meta, Google, HubSpot, Stripe, and Vercel keep information according to their own policies.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections and reputable service providers to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
The Site is for licensed clinicians and other professionals. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice. When we do, we will change the effective date above. If we start collecting new kinds of information, we will update this notice before that collection begins.
